The “New Journey” that President Xi referred to in his first speech after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party can be understood as a “new historical moment,” where it will be vital to work as a group to achieve modernity and a better collective destiny for humanity.
The central point of this fact will be not only to be content with the old assumption of creating greater “dynamism of the countries,” but the courage and capacity to realize their development. But for this, countries need to be aware that global globalization has created strong and comprehensive ties among all. It will be useless to try and insist on solving all the problems on your own. This historical phase is over.
Therefore, we must work in groups with determination to carry out deep and necessary reforms, both in the way of thinking, and acting to make government management more efficient.
Development has a close relationship with technology. Therefore, partners in conducting specific joint research will have better conditions for success, and with it the ability to share beneficial results for humanity.
Development also requires teamwork. So when we see the Silk Road project, we visualize the possibility of countries with different cultures, religions, and ideologies, but that have the same standard goal: To give better living conditions for its population. They are such development models that should serve as benchmarks for future partnerships between countries.
Like President Xi, I think the journey has begun. Passengers and equipment should share where possible. The conditions of political and commercial relations must be as frank and open as possible, so that all together may move towards this new era of humanity.
